Based on the vision of our wise leadership in enhancing community cohesion, strengthening social bonds, and consolidating relations between neighbors and the people of the same residential neighborhood, the establishment of suburban and village councils in the various cities and regions of Sharjah emirate, and the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs supervises these councils and follows them technically, administratively and financially.

The department aims through councils to:

- Provide citizens with a decent standard of living, as it is a basic right for every citizen.

- Raising awareness and creating a general societal culture.

- Exploiting the available capabilities in coordination with the authorities concerned with preparing housing, educational, health, cultural and social services.

- Strengthening social cohesion and contributing to maintaining security in society to ensure comprehensive and sustainable development.

Following up on the needs of the people and informing the department of them to take the necessary action regarding them:

- Coordination with security authorities to prevent crime and provide a safe environment in the emirate.

- Educating individuals about the dangers of social deviations and preventing them in coordination with the competent authorities in the emirate.

- Investing the energies and skills of the council members in serving their society and contributing to spreading social and cultural awareness in coordination with the competent authorities in Sharjah emirate.
