The Public Prosecution was formed as an independent
department based on the decision of His Highness the late Sheikh Maktoum Bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, may Allah have mercy on him, as per the Law No. 8 of the
year 1992. Public Prosecution was established to achieve judicial
justice with respect to the public right of the Emirate. Undertakes the authority of investigation and imposing
charges as well as referring the accused person to the competent court if
proven his involvement in the crime. Public Prosecution also supervises over
the stages of the case in the criminal courts. Public
Prosecution relies in its work on simplifying the procedures and its speedy
action in a way that does not affect the proper administration of justice as it
serves the public and accomplishes his interest and achieve justice.
