Al Midfa: Sharjah Airport receives WDU Golden

Sharjah 24: Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Airport
Authority (SAA), recognized the critical contribution played by Al Thiqah Club
for the Disabled in organizing international events for people with
disabilities.
"We are pleased with this accomplishment, and with
receiving the golden certificate from The World Disability Union (WDU)."
Al Midfa said in an exclusive statement to Sharjah 24."Which builds on the
Emirate of Sharjah's achievements in providing an incubator environment for
people with mobility disabilities and maximizes their potential, in
accordance with His Highness Sheikh D. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi's,
directives and support, which culminated three years ago during the World
Cities Day ceremony in 2018. The WDU awarded
the city the title of “a friendly city for people with mobility disabilities.
Al Midfa continued, "We are happy to have been given the WDU accreditation
for satisfying all of the qualifications necessary to be a
wheelchair-accessible environment." Sharjah International Airport is the
fourth airport to receive this international certification.
